Mental Health and Well-being Coaching

Mental health difficulties in young people are increasing at a rapid rate. Unfortunately, there has been a significant increase of young people struggling with their well-being as a direct impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mental well-being is as important to a child's safety as their physical health. It can impact on all aspects of their life, including their educational attainment, relationships and physical well-being.

Early help and early intervention are forms of support aimed at improving outcomes for children or preventing escalating need or risk. Well-being coaching focuses on mindset, developing resilience and improving self-esteem. Coaches aim to work alongside the young person and their parents or careers. Focusing on improving their well-being, setting realistic goals and personal challenges they may be facing.

Healthy Mind | Happy Me has one goal in mind: providing high-quality early interventions for young people.
Early intervention, including promotion and prevention strategies, has the potential to produce the greatest impact on young people’s mental health and well-being by taking action before young people reach crisis.
NICE recognised in 2022 that non-judgmental 'strengths-based' approaches support children and young people in developing their skills, resilience and self-worth.
